Mmm yes, but it's not so much the Internet - everybody uses it - as
concepts of digital transendence that are passe, whether it's the belief
in human-like AI or the cypherpunkish belief in freedom-in-anonymity.  The
standing soul-wave kills the former while ubiquitous surveillance and
interconnectivity kills the latter.

On the other hand, doesn't Kiln People's future predict a collapse of
traditional forms of government, which is very much in line with some
cyber- and cypherpunkish predictions?
