Someone (David?) already gave a good analysis, eh?  ;)

Once I figured out the first part and could see where he was going, it
wasn't that hard.  (And I responded with what I thought was a reasonable
response, as well.  And I *did* take Advil later.)

A rebus is a puzzle using words and/or pictures to encode a set of words
for a message.  You see the mostly-picture kind on McDonald's Happy
Meals sometimes.  I loved them when I came across them in Archie comics
as a child.
