No Dr. Brin, I imply no such thing. For example, I do not imply that by quoting Pat Buchanan, you now share Pat Buchanan's pro-life views on human rights for unborn children. What I do imply, however, is that when you write a post to this list, the centerpiece of which is a quote from Pat Buchanan expressing Mr. Buchanan's isolationist views, that you are looking with some degree of favorability upon those views. Consider, for example, the first part of Pat Buchanan's quote: "We invaded a country that did not threaten us, did not attack us,and did not want war with us" Guess what, Dr. Brin - Pat Buchanan said the same thing HUNDREDS of times about the war against Yugoslavia! (As well as the First Gulf War, IIRC!) Thus, the above is a very interesting charge for you to level at the Bush Administration, since it applies equally well to the Yugoslavia War you admire so much. So, yes indeed the Bush Administration has broken with the traditional conservatism of Pat Buchanan - particularly the isolationist wing of conservatism whose epitome is Pat Buchanan, and includes rejection of not just the Yugoslavia War but also includes withdrawal from the United Nations and the rest of the international arena. Thus, you are one of the last people whom I would imagine to be lamenting the passsing of the "isolationist corner" of the conservative movement. Ridiculous comments about the IQ of the Bush Administration, utter blindness of the "incredible severity of hatred" that liberals express towards (neo)-conservatives, and, most inexplicably, the idea that residents of plains and mountains States want to dissolve the Union - I am not going to dignify with a comment.
