Why not just set them up with a gmail account, and keep the @bworks.org
for volunteers and staff?

Right now, it's first initial last name @ domain. If we assign
accounts, staying with that would probably be easiest. If we help them
create their own gmail account, it becomes a non-issue.

One more thing to cover in class -- to explain clearly the difference
between the ISP's username/password, and their gmail username/password.

I think that's the way to go -- they could set it up in class, then
email one another during the class, thus learning a bit about how email
actually works.

If we just set up gmail, and don't use @bworks.org, then if they drop
out, no problem.

And yet, the passwords won't be the same, unless we set up the city
account first, and then use that for the gmail account (or set up the
city account and then change the password to be the same as the gmail
password). Thus my comment above about explaining the difference
between a dialup access account and a web-based email account.

Just my two-bits.
