Do you mean the loss of jobs???? Do you mean the numerous articles that mention the end of American programmer? Check this one out:
http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/1014/p17s01-coop.html Hey, I do agree that not all programming jobs can be offshored, but that is why we have H1-B's for! I guess I could provide data that shows most programming jobs, even research jobs are being outsourced. But why? I think most of us already know it from direct experience. But let me make this clear. I really don't know for certain it just seems this way. I realize that people do buy more expensive cars over cheaper cars. I do realize that people buy more expensive homes and other stuff. I just don't see companies buying into any value-add other then cost. But maybe I am wrong! I have been eating way too much junk food recently. Maybe my perception is skewed. --- Sean Gilbertson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Do you have any data you can show us? > > On Tue, Nov 09, 2004 at 10:26:58AM -0800, Stede > Troisi wrote: > > > > Actually what I am saying is the value-add of > reduce > > cost will beat out the value-add of XP, Pair > > Programming and anything else you can throw in > > defense. > > > > At least that is what it looks like now. > > > > Stede > > > > --- jhrothjr <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], Stede > > > Troisi > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Without a union (and maybe even with) our > fictious > > > > company could NEVER, EVER compete with WIPRO > and > > > other > > > > firms from India that can do the same things > for > > > > 1/10th the price.
