I think the situation at Kidder has now been resolved but at one time the
store manager's attitude to BW was contemptuous. Over a two month period BW
pulled literally hundreds of trolleys from the canal. The response of the
manager was to to refuse to even talk about the problem, going so far as to
order BW staff off the premises when they arrived for a meeting they'd
requested by letter.

What do you do in response to that sort of thing? Stop using the store is
the answer, but boats as always were queuing up there the last time I past.

Hi Steve,

One wonders what their attitude might be to being sued, by certain of those
said boaters, for underwater damage - maybe a prop or two, bent shaft,
displaced stern bearings - a rudder perhaps?

I've no idea what that might cost but, having to have the work done
professionally - including the costs of towing to a boatyard and slipping -
I would have thought that it must come close to a grand (maybe more?) per
incident.

Maybe somebody should drop this guy a hint - together with a letter from
BW's solicitors informing the store manager, in no uncertain terms, that he
would be held personally liable along with the store.
