Hi All,

The trolley's are probably not insured as such but the company uses a blanket
policy where they will pay say upto £25,000.00 of any claim above that then it
would go to the insurance company.

All this talk of trolleys surprised Martin or Tim have not come up with
pictures from recent years on the BCN clean up weekend.

There was a picture of a lot of trolleys that had come out of one lock.

In the BCN area the BW people will take the trolleys back to the supermarkets
if the names are still clear, and I believed they get £60.00 per trolley?

Several years ago on the BCN, working under spagetti junction, we kept pulling
scaffolding from the water, I understand the company that had a yard down
there, were taken to court by BW and prosecuted.

By the way BCN is coming up soon all volunteers welcome!!!

Moose

Not necessarily!

Firstly the excess on their insurance will be far higher than the cost of an
individual trolley, so the company is paying one way or another!

When returned some trolley to Toys R Us a few years back after retrieving
them from the Nene the manager was happy to have them back. Replacements for
damaged ones came from central budgets, but he was responsible for lost
trolleys on his budget - a good incentive!
