Yes, apparently some [SONY] firmwares make it impossible to tell
minimally and fully blanked media apart, which is why growisofs failed
to auto-engage DAO.

There were couple of question Marc posed, which I figured worth bringing
up to the public.

Marc by the way is the first one to report that his settop DVD-Video
plays fails to play DVD-RW media recorded in Restricted Overwrite, but
not in DAO. Well, it still might turn out to be something similar to
DVD+RW lead-out issue described in Compatibility "chapter" on my page.
This remains to be seen...
