But the reason Clinton could do that was because of the Tax Increase from
George Bush Sr.

These things don't happen overnight. They take months and years to get
going. During the first Bush administration he raised the taxes. By doing
so he made the money that Clinton and the Republican Congress used to
create a surplus and pay down the deficit.

Now the surplus is starting to add up. They are taking more money from
Americans than they are using. They are not even using it to pay down the
deficit, it is just sitting there making interest. It is money that they
took from me to pay for programs that I might not like and to make more
money off of it to spend on more programs that I might not like.

I don't mind the $1 trillion they have marked for mandatory spending, it is
the other $700 billion.

I agree with the idea that they are for services rendered. But I didn't
request some of these services, does that mean I can call and get them
taken off of my bill?

As for other countries, they can have higher taxes because the federal
government takes care of more of the government and they have less people.
Here we have a nation, then a state, and then a county, and then a city.

I am being taxed by three different governments, the city and county are
the same here. And I have other withholdings as well and then sales tax. I
don't care about the taxes in other countries, I just think I have to pay
too much in income tax.
