is it? a miscarriage can be caused by actions or inactions of the mother. A miscarriage could be a clearly foreseeable consequence of the mother's behavior.

COULD be I say, before people write me a lot of examples of blameless miscarriages :) But supposing one IS due to the actions of the mother....this is still ok, because she did not visit a doctor and say "terminate the pregnancy"?
