While I agree that there is nothing wrong with gay marriage, and many people waste too much time fighting the issue, I think that your sentiments about who should and shouldn't care about social issues are dangerous. Your example, SUVs, *do* affect you, because they are guzzling the earth's fuel and polluting the environment that you live in, and someday you or your children will feel the repercussions. If only people who are directly involved in or are directly affected by a bad practice are the only ones that *should* speak out against them, then this world will never change.
