This just seems excessive. Kids throw fits. Some kids worse than others. At least with my daughter the more I try to restrain her the more upset she gets. I've tried just giving her a big bear hug and holding her but she fights and gets all the more worked up. If I leave her alone and walk away she calms down after a few minutes. Then we can talk about what happened. I've not seen the video, so maybe its not my place to say anything but it seems to me there could have been other options. If you can restrain a 5 year old enough to put handcuffs on do you really need them? Would it not have been better to remove the other kids and adults leave someone to keep her from hurting herself and let the tantrum run its course then take action.
