Depends on the union. Some unions are great and are out for the
employees. Most in NYC are corrupt. I forget the list of which ones
are good.
I know the restaurant union, local 6 I think, is solid corruption. I
worked at Nathan's as a teen and went to a union meeting asking where
all the dues went. My boss/friend told me he got a call saying they
know where I live, who my family members are and to mind my own
business. Rough for a 17 year old.
