I started walking ... Then I started slow jogs. Going for as long as was comfortable. Then I started going faster, again, for as long as was comfortable.
Now I "know" I can run 2 miles non-stop very easily ... So these days I push myself to 3 and 4. My goal this week is 5 miles on Saturday. I am taking today off. I don't feel 100%. Listen to your body they say .... It'll either tell you "I'm dying, for heaven's sake stop!" or you'll feel like you can go forever. :) I just found out there's a 10k on July 4th here in Atlanta. 6.2 miles. If we can get past the 7:30am start time, my friend Matt and I might just do it. $100 to those that can finish in under 29 minutes ... Oof.
