I forgot to add that the one thing that would probably unite Iran -
both reformist and conservatives, would be an outside invasion. Just
look at the results of the Iran Iraq war of the 1980's. Before Hussein
invaded Iran, that country was on the brink of a counter revolution.
Immediately after the start the entire nation united against Iraq, was
was quite willing to send everything against the Iraqis, including
using waves of children to detonate minefields.
