I agree, it's probably suicide, but we are out of options. Russia is not going to support sanctions, China is not going to support sanctions. The Europeans dicked around with negotiations so long that the Iranians have built out underground bunkers all over the place, which is going to make it very difficult to achieve anything significant with air power. Beyond effectiveness, I don't think we can do anything unless it removes the mullahs from power, because once we go at them, they are going to fight it out.
