A senior developer (5+ years exp) should expect to make between 85k-110k based on skills, location, etc. The benefits would include a standard health plan, 3 weeks vacation, bonus (<=10%), and maybe a few other things. Offshore contract resources go for about $25/hr and on-shore contractors for about $70. For senior US contract resources, $150+ Background checks are required at any major company but usually only include criminal history, resume check, etc. Just the high level stuff. Drug tests are less required, but there: some do, some don't. That's roughly the standard but, as you said, all of this changes with different companies. Some will offer less pay but, for example, flight benefits at an airline or 20% off or cost at the retail outlet, etc. A good example is Brunswick who makes, in addition to bowling balls, Sea Ray boats. As an employee there you get them for cost above a certain length (35'?). So it varies, but 10 year guy or gal can make roughly 90k+ or more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:216617 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
