BTW, I am NOT "leftist". Quite the contrary. This really has nothing to do with political parties.
I have not been in combat, nor do I honestly think that I would be cut out for it. I'll admit that. I still don't see why that matters. This is not a split-second decision, where the "wrong" decision creates previously mentioned "costs of war". This is a conscious, calculated decision that doesn't exactly require military knowledge to weigh the pros and cons. I definitely see your point there at the end, and I don't really have an immediate answer for how to "fix" it. I do personally KNOW that imitating the horrible actions of the person we overthrew is just going to disgust the rest of the world, and if you think it's hard to fight two wars right now, wait till we have to fight 5. Or 6. Or more. Your kids will be fighting those wars, you know. -----Original Message----- From: Heald, Timothy J [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, March 05, 2007 1:10 PM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: My Cousin was hit by an IED in Iraq Are they innocent? They allowed themselves to be ruled by a tyrant. They allow the insurgents to live in their community, they give them food and money. I mean, we can talk about "the kids" all day. Seems like it's the lefts favorite tactic in this country. You ever been military, combat arms? You have to make a million tough dicisions a day. That only gets worse as you rise through the ranks. The basics of this decision to me is the fact that I don't want my kids in Iraq, and the only way I can insure that is to win total victory and compliance, the way we did in WW2. Most of you people don't have the staying power to do what we would need to do in iraq and Afghanistan in order to win, that limits the range of possible responses, in my mind bringing us down to nuke em. -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
