I deployed with the Texas National Guard, specifically a unit from El Paso.
The unit was 80% Hispanic. There were absolutely no searches for gang tats
even though some of the guys had them. The 12 years I was in active duty I
had never heard of this. I emailed my brother-in-law yesterday who is an
active duty Captain(p) and he informed me that he has never heard of that
either.
Like I said, I feel that this was a case of prejudice.
Now I am not purposely trying to contradict Loathe. It could very well be
that the units he was in did that. I am just speaking from my personal
experiences.

well it seems like you would know. However, he says this was the only
unit. Only National Guard unit? I have no way to reconcile your
statement with his. Bruce?
