As someone who has worked in 2 massively regulated industries and been part of many, many, many audits for SOX as well as a ton of other state and federal regulations, I can say that I totally agree. Here's the key point to regulation: it's not all good, it's not a magic bullet, it does cause overhead and it does slow things down. But it smooths out the peaks and valleys which, given the gov't's takeover of Freddie and Fannie under a Republican president who fought for privatization shows, there is no appetite for valleys. Therefore, at the expense of the heights of peaks, regulation helps raise the depth of the valleys and puts the cost only on those that consume the product or service rather than all tax payers. Thus gov't regulation is essentially a sales tax that consumers can choose versus an income tax that is mandated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;203748912;27390454;j Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:268466 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
