I asked the thought police around here (a sales and project manager) and 
they both said yes, for the following reasons:

- Sunflower seeds are messy, noisy and distracting
- Bringing individual food into a meeting without bringing enough to 
share is considered rude by some.
- It's not the most professional thing in the world to sit there and 
spit shells while you're talking about large dollar projects.

Personally I would have to agree with #1 and #3, not sure about #2. 
Then again, I'm not the etiquette police.
