In my building alone, I personally know of 3 families that live off welfare,
one of which proudly proclaims that 4 generations have _never_ worked in
their entire lives.

All are of Irish descent, still have a thick almost unintelligible brogue
after 5 generations in Boston, and would steal the copper from your
apartment if they could get away with it.

And this is a "luxury apartment" complex, and is not cheap for me (cheap for
them, though, through section 8 housing).

I have absolutely no problem with helping families in need, but I _really_
wish they would police the bad actors with a little more vigor, and hold
them up in the public square as examples.
