>I can accept that, it took me more than one atempt to quit smoking.

One of my more favourite psychology researcher is Stanleu Schacter. Basically
he found that people make multiple attempts at quitting smoking. He surveyed an
entire town about it - every current smoker and each former smoker. All the
former smokers made multiple attempts at quitting smoking. And it followed
generally the same pattern, after a very short number of attempts most people
quit smoking.

>Not true at all, and you are a fucking asshole for making such an
>accusation.

But you did say that you thought that seniors on medicare with emphysema due to
smoking should be forced to pay for all the treatment. Hey they're on Medicare,
they cannot afford the treatment, they don't have the money. If they can't
afford it they will die. So what else am I supposed to think. Either that or
you are extremely short sighted about your solution, or just don't give a damn
what happens to those very vulnerable people.

>I do, however, have a thing for protecting people from their
>own stupidity. Its time to start thinning the herd.

And who died and made you God? Are you willing to individually judge who is to
live and die? And what are your criteria?

You think that you have the moral purity that qualifies you to condemn
relatively innocent people to a horrible death? Sorry but I cannot see anyone
here or probably on this planet who has that qualification.

The ones who claimed that certitude in the past have invariably lead to places
like Auschwitz and Bergen-Belson.

Not might work. These programs work. Those are average success rates. and those
are calculated on very stringent criteria than is far stricter than what is
ordinarily considered a success. There are a lot of reliable predictors of
success and they are starting to be used. Besides if a single time $75 million
annual cost saves over $1 billion annually, to me that's a pretty significant
saving to the economy.
