As a customer of timewarner now and comcast because their DVR does allow you to 1) Record new shows only, record new shows and repeats, and record duplicates 2) Record on one station or record on any station
Both these options are under the advanced series recording options and the default is to record new and repeats. And the default is to record on the channel you are currently selected on. Explore a little i prefer sagetv over tivo and cable dvr boxes but no biggie. Sagetv was sweet i could say record anything with william shatner that was always fun.
