Just be aware that if you do fight it, that you can expect return calls/emails from them for over a year asking for more proof of your position while they try (not) to figure out their error. And that's if you try to work it out yourself amicably instead of going through a lawyer.
Also, you may actually not be allowed to even hire a lawyer if you wanted to and could afford it. Most card companies include in the terms of service some language that basically says you are not allowed to sue them (or they you, theoritically) and that you have agreed to handle everything through an arbitration service.
