Erika,
Here's a sauce recipe of my own invention. It isn't what Adam would do
(dried herbs!?!, canned tomatoes?!?). But, it's a darn yummy sauce
none-the-less, and in Wisconsin in winter, you better be using canned
tomatoes. ;)

Tomato Dippin' Sauce
This sauce was designed as a dipping sauce for stromboli, but it's a good
all-around tomato sauce, too.

8 cloves garlic
2 T. olive oil
1/3 cup red wine
1 large can whole tomatoes
2 t. dried basil
2 t. dried oregano
1 1/2 T. pesto

Crush garlic and lightly saute with olive oil. Add wine and briefly simmer.
Transfer to a blender and puree with tomatoes. Return mixture to saucepan.
Add herbs and pesto and simmer until reduced by half.
