a pre-existing condition or some other incident occurs (a bout of severe
alcoholism for example) it's unlikely that you'll damage your organs. Like
everything else, if you take-in too much of anything, your body will expel
it. It's kind of like the old wives' tale about not eating too much salt
because it'll give you high blood pressure... if all of your organs are
functioning properly, you are relatively healthy, and you don't have a
pre-existing condition, you'll simply piss out all of the salt that your
body doesn't need... it won't hurt your blood pressure much at all. Of
course, it will put more strain on certain organs (which like I said, will
handle it OK without failure if you're healthy). It would take a seriously
long-term diet like this to hurt anything. In general though, with
anything - just do it in moderation, use common sense, and exercise.

I balance out carbs and protein. I take a bit more protein than carbs
but I make sure I get carbs in my diet. I wouldn't have any energy if I
didn't get carbs in.

too much protein will hurt your kidneys - coupled with low or no carb
in-take it's worse. My father's a physician and has shown me what
happens
when you do these things to your body long-term.

I think too much protein hurting your kidneys is a bit of a myth. I
take
in LOTS of protein, mostly from meal replacements and protein shakes
and
it doesn't bother me. It could be because I work out a lot and maybe
it
helps break it down better, but I have asked on a few bodybuilding
forums I go on about protein damaging kidneys and most people say it's
not true. I'm no doctor so I don't have substantial evidence on this,
just my findings.

Careful. My mom had a "cardiac event" which we think was due to her
starting
an Atkin's like diet. It's also very hard on your kidneys (too much
protein). Best to do some research to see how it might affect you.
