Leon With a help from Jesse, Sean Corfield, Christian Cantrell, I was able to port a Linux install of the Trial (Developer) version to Mac OS X.
The Web server used, is the default (MM-supplied) Web server that is part of the underlying JRun included with CFMX. The port is a rather ugly process, but the results are "beautiful" IMO. Now, you can install a complete CFMX IDE on a Mac. Of course, this is not a supported product -- noone expected it to be. But it runs well and most things (except those involving Intel-specific C++ code) work. The Java code runs, untouched -- a testimonial to the Java Virtual Machine concept and to MM for developing CFMX entirely (almost) in Java. I feel it is a monumental breakthrough to be able to develop CFMX entirely on a Mac. Havinh MM support would be nice, but is not crucial. You probably could use the port in a production environment with the purchase of a serial #. However, I don't think I would want to base a production web site on an unsuppoted version of CFMX. That said, I think that Mac OS X Server would be an excellent platform for a production site. Likely, MM needs to build a business case for releasing and supporting a Mac product -- I, and others hope this happens, and, in a reasonable time period.
