I'm just a nobody -- I have no entre to MM. You've got the Director of Architecture at MM, the Unix/Linux "special guy" and several others at MM running on Mac OS X. I don't have the time nor resources to build a business case for MM -- besides, they would want to do their own, anyway. With the port, and the articles, I have done as much as I can to promote a product (CFMX) and a platform (OS X) that I really believe in. The reason that I originally asked about changing from the CFMX default server to Apache is simple: The Apache Web server is integral to Mac OS X -- you can use it for personal web sharing, web development with PHP, Perl, Python, yadda, yadda, yadda, I do most of my development in CF (soon to be CFMX). For the first time I can do this locally on a Mac -- it is now as productive to develop in CFMX as in the other languages (above). All I wanted to do was eliminate the need to run 2 web servers: CFMX Default and Apache. I am not trying to undermine MM or get a production CFMX site going. However, sometimes it is useful to give out your IP address to a perspective client show them working or prototype examples of their app. (Its also nice to show skeptics that CFMX runs, and runs well, on Mac OS X). Maybe I just should just install Tomcat, immerse my self in Java education, and say "screw it" to all proprietary products! -- seriously thinking about it -- it would give your (CF lists) ears a rest Dick > Dave Watts, CTO, Fig Leaf Software > http://www.figleaf.com/ > voice: (202) 797-5496 > fax: (202) 797-5444 > ______________________________________________________________________ This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
