I really don't think the issue is whether they actually support their list of "supported browsers" - the whole concept of "supported browsers" is silly. There are not many excuses for writing pages that don't work in browser X. Even if pages don't look pretty users should still be able to navigate to all pages and access all important content (i.e.. decorative images are not essential).
One exception in this case is that Lynx doesn't support HTTPS - in the context of a banking app this means tough luck for Lynx users. But the aims of "provide non js alternatives for js based functionality" and "provide alt text for all meaningful images" are pretty much essential of any site with a broad audience.
