hehe on that note - one way to push for standards is to change the browser you use. Switch to something like opera or mozilla, and when you come across a major site that does something weird, send a polite email to the admin. The more people switch to browsers that are based in standards the more these so called "penetration statistics" (which are pretty much rubbish in terms of actual numbers) will change to reflect this.
