I do wear an aid in one ear. It helps to pick up very loud noises for the purpose of getting my attention only. I have a service animal who does that much better though, lol. The other ear can not get sound even with aids, so I don't wear one in that ear.

If I am in a loud room like a party with lots of conversation, music, ect, I can hear like a buzz with my aid in. (nothing without). If there is a quiet room and someone pounded on a drum or something real loud, it would get my attention, but I can't identify where the sound is coming from or what it is. So basically the aid works as an attention getter.

Do you wear a hearing aid or aids?  they call my loss profound but I can hear ok with 2 hearing aids. Just not small sounds sometimes.

Thanks so much Marsha.  We have 2 carriers here that we use to transport the cats to the vet. Perfect size for the Chi. However I am hard of hearing and I can't see inside the carrier to make sure he is ok. So I am going to look around and see what is available.
You have been a lot of help.  Thanks again
Baby gates will work too.  We will have to separate the cat litter and the cat food also.

yes crates are the little wire cages. Some people, including myself, use carriers as crates. My chis prefer the darkness they can get inside the carriers better.

A kennel, technically, is an outside confined area. But some people refer to their inside x pens ect as kennels. An x-pen is sorta like a baby play pen only it doesn't have the bottom in it. I actually have these baby gate things that can be joined on either side to make as big or small as you want. I have mine divided right now into two separate pens because I have put the cat's litter box in one to keep the dogs out, lol. The cat can get over, the dogs can't.

Here is a link to the type of thing I use as a pen/kennel. But the crate is a much smaller confinement and this smaller area is necessary for housebreaking.

The difference in this and what I use is that mine is plastic and is screened in x shapes instead of the square shapes like this one.
