How can you tell the difference?

I'm not 100% positive, but isn't collapsed trachea different from reverse
sneezing? It's my understanding that both are common among small dogs, but
collapsed trachea (which has another name) can sometimes need to be
surgically corrected, usually when they are older. I would be happy to hear
from others on this subject.
