You have somehow attached the cifs-gendiag script instead of its output.

Scanning through your system log, I noticed the system clock is not
accurate at all time. The time stamp of the log messages switches from
Oct to Dec, and then back to Oct. How about fixing the following issue:
-------------------
Dec 28 11:00:00 osol-minotaur genunix: [ID 125632 kern.warning] WARNING:
Time-of-day chip unresponsive; dead batteries?
----------------

I'm surprised that not only was SMB service turned into maintenance
mode, but also hal, ntp, gdm, ...
------------------------------

Oct 27 10:31:01 osol-minotaur svc.startd[7]: [ID 748625 daemon.error]
system/hal:default failed fatally: transitioned to maintenance (see
'svcs -xv' for details)

Oct 27 20:34:45 osol-minotaur svc.startd[7]: [ID 748625 daemon.error]
network/ntp:default transitioned to maintenance by request (see 'svcs
-xv' for details)

Oct 27 20:06:29 osol-minotaur svc.startd[7]: [ID 122153 daemon.warning]
svc:/application/graphical-login/gdm:default: Method or service exit
timed out. Killing contract 96.

Oct 27 20:06:29 osol-minotaur svc.startd[7]: [ID 122153 daemon.warning]
svc:/network/smb/server:default: Method or service exit timed out.
Killing contract 67.

Oct 27 20:06:29 osol-minotaur svc.startd[7]: [ID 748625 daemon.error]
network/smb/server:default failed: transitioned to maintenance (see
'svcs -xv' for details)
---------------------

Would the issues you reported in your last few emails caused by system
instability? I guess it's not worth pursuing those issues until your
system is back in the stable stage.

-------------------

Dec 28 11:00:43 osol-minotaur inetd[679]: [ID 702911 daemon.warning]
Configuration file /etc/inet/inetd.conf has been modified since inetconv
was last run. "inetconv -i /etc/inet/inetd.conf" must be run to apply
any changes to the SMF

Dec 28 11:00:49 osol-minotaur smbd[741]: [ID 989298 daemon.error]
smb_ads: ADS server is either not found or offline.

---------------------

Looks to me the ADS server discovery might have been affected by
inetconv. If so, I don't think there is any issue with smbd.

Natalie
