I was on that board and I will say, without any doubt whatsoever, that what
I heard Bob say over and over and over was that because he was an elected
officer he had to serve the wishes of the majority of club members--not his
own wishes. That Board members are elected and therefore should work as
employees of the club members. He truly felt his own wishes should have
been left out of the whole thing and he stuck to that.

This is one thing I've always wondered about. What would have happened if
we had all stuck together and no one would have left to form another club?
Yes, I'm certain a group of some type of breeders would have formed a club,
but what difference would that have made? Do you think this group would
have started a completely 100% closed club--allowing no new members
whatsoever--or not? Do you think this group would have *had it together
enough* to pull off a stunt like that? I'm asking because I know a club is
absolutely NOTHING by itself--all it is is a bunch of individual human
members. A new club never worried me whatsoever. I figured that if any
club came forth and went to the AKC (or the AKC *picked* a group for a
club), we could all have quite easily joined that club, and with our vast
experience, taken it over--simple as pie. Is there any reason to believe
this would not have been possible?
