Thus, the public is at the mercy of anyone who advertises or sells their Cavaliers to a pet store, in my opinion. I say this because I was in this dilemma when I was looking for my first Cavalier eight years ago. I have suggested before, and do so again, that our breed clubs need to run ads in the newspapers, maybe only on weekends, to direct the public to our puppy referral telephone numbers. I am sure that reputable breeders and the clubs would be glad to donate financially to the effort.
