Hi Kim.  I don't think that I made myself clear about this.  Actually, I
think doing it this way saves the bitch's owner some headache.  Our thing is
that if the bitch doesn't take, or loses the puppies or something, we don't
want to return money, so we just don't cash the check for the stud fee until
we know that the bitch has had a nice healthy litter of puppies.  Then, we
know that our boy has done his job and he deserves to get paid.  Also, it
avoids us holding money and owing them a free, repeat breeding.  I know of
people who have gotten into some problems over free repeat breedings when
the first one didn't work out.  This way, if there aren't any puppies or
only one living puppy, the breeding is considered to be a free one.  Myra
