<< Yes, some dogs bark for attention. But many dogs just plan like to hear
the
sound of their own voices and it can become a major problem. >>

well I will play devils advocate here :o) IF you debark a dog and it then
can't hear itself bark ...... what "gift" have you given the dog.

I have 9 Cavaliers - and yes they bark at given times. But the minute they
get going I am outside making them stop. If there is a squirrel in the tree -
then they are locked back inside with me until the squirrel leaves :o) Its
a simple matter of controlling the dog and its environment. I never leave
them unsupervised outside without my being home. One of mine is funny - the
minute someone starts barking in the yard - I hear the doggie door flap bang
and she runs in - wants me to know it is NOT her barking.

I don't like barking dogs - just as I don't like screaming children left to
throw a tantrum for all to hear.
