IMO a good moving dog is one that is clean coming and going with plenty of
drive and reach from the side. what i am seeing in the ring are dogs who
take little pitter patter steps (dont cover any ground), elbows out, hocks
rubbing together when they move, rear legs swinging around etc. etc. etc.

i dont think movement is subjective at all. i think you either know it or
you dont and alot of people just get too emotionally involved to be able to
assess the dog properly. others just dont see it for whatever reason just
like there are some people who have been breeding for years and still cant
pick a good dog.

yes there is such a thing as perfect movement. all you need do is watch the
groups and every so often there are some dogs that will take your breath away
when they move.

actually any dog that moves with its head held high is not correct. if the
center of gravity is in the right place, a correctly moving dog will move
with its head level with its back. when the head is carried too high, many
times it can also be due to straight shoulders. and yes it does look flashy
to see dogs moving out with their heads held high.
