Gerri, this is not my opinion talking......was just referring some information that some pet owners told me.
Personally, I don't see mandatory testing being well received by breeders as there is alot of subjectivity in the results, based on who is determining them.....and then what do you make mandatory....hearts and eyes and hips and patellas and hearing, or just hearts and eyes or just hearts and hips or what????? Opinions vary greatly on what is absolutely crucial to test in this breed. that is a whole other issue to debate. It's true that pet owners do not fully understand what we, as breeders, face in trying to make the right decisions for ourselves. I venture no guess as to the outcome of a vote to include AKC dogs in the CKCSC registry. pam ----- Original Message ----- From: Gerri Dueringer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, April 19, 2002 4:13 PM Subject: Re: [CKCS-L] IIA 3/not a new amendment > In a message dated 04/19/2002 4:04:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > > << .but some pet owners will "trade" a vote in > favor of registering AKC dogs if the CKCSC would make health testing parents > mandatory to register a litter.....that's how some people see it I think. >> > Pam, > > Will ask you the same thing I asked Winnie.
