I try to respond to each one.  I have a general printed sheet of info that
says
"The following should be helpful as you research the breed and breeders..."
It doesn't take that long to write a few personal sentences at the beginning
and then send it to them.  It covers what testing they should see certs for,
registries (since in this area many bogus ones are used), red flags, books
to read, some reputable websites with good info, etc.  Many I never hear
back from and many have written very nice notes of thanks, some telling
me the info stopped them from buying a puppy from someone they now
realize was not reputable.  Some requests are rather annoying (especially
those that don't even sign a name), but I still try to respond.  I feel I owe
it
to the breed.
