I placed a dog with a young women with horrible allergies/asthma. This dog worked out for her but when she came back to get a second dog, I received a call at 11 pm that she was almost in shock from this one! The dog was returned that night.
Maybe, if at all possible, let the boy see several and see what his reaction is to them. For some strange reason Cavaliers do not seem to illicit the same response in asthmatics and other dogs do. I myself suffer from asthma and have no problems with Cavaliers. One may work and one may not, it could be trail and error with a few choices. Good luck!
