I'd rather have the fleas than risk it. We sold a bitch years ago to a novice
show home that came with the very best recommendations. When the bitch
finished, they bred her...and while she was in whelp, treated her for fleas.
Lost the whole litter...
my own vet was livid. The puppies all looked fine, but none of their breathing
equipment had developed........... Frankly, that experience is what turned me
off selling to new people to show. Those people weren't stupid, just believed
what their vet told them...and not that all vets are stupid, either, but a lot
of them truly don't believe that people should be breeding dogs.
I use Advantage here...but not on pregnant dogs. They get sprayed with
lemon juice, or vinegar...and fed garlic. If all the other dogs get Advantage
and the one remaining doesn't taste good, you lose those fleas in a hurry!
