I find that odd. If it is understood that a breeding bitch can not be bred if
they have a heart murmur before 2 1/2 then they were not sold a breeding bitch
they were sold a pet. Unless the show and pet price are the same they should
be at least given the difference between the two amounts or return her for a
replacement. For the most part in Goldens hips, eyes and hearts are warranted
to be free of dysplasia, SAS, and will CERF up to 24 months of age and usually
26 months for hips on bitches in case they come in season when they are going
to be OFA'd to give them time to come out. In addition, most show prospects
are warranted not to have a disqualifying fault. Ours are height, one inch
over or under and bites, overshot or undershot are disqualifying. This of
course is if the breeder has two amounts for pet and show. Many breeders now
are just selling both at the same amount and if something doesn't clear, goes
too big, stays to small, bite goes bad, then essentially they've bought a pet.
