Hi Jackie,
I remember the Dremel was discussed on this (or another?) list a while
back, and I went and bookmarked a website or two in case I decided to buy
it. But I was a little nervous about what I had read about it heating up,
etc., so I've been using the ol' nailclippers and I guess by now I've gotten
better (and faster) at doing it that way. I do keep forgetting to try the
tip about the stocking! Thanks for the reminder!

<<< Have you thought of or tried using a nailgrinder instead of nail
scissors? Once they get used to the vibration they seem to relax
better for their nail trimming. The dew claw is still a little tricky and,
like Alida, it takes me more time keeping the feathering out of the
way then it does to do the deed. I have used the cordless 2 speed
Dremel MiniMate for several years now and even young puppies
get used to it very early on.
I know someone at some time on one of these lists said they put
the dog's paw into a nylon stocking to hold the hair back, while the
nails poked through and were easy to trim. I think I'll try that this
week when I do their nails. >>>
