neither of these things is true unless:
o you use a truly shitty email client (which apparently you are because its
breaking the threading ;)
o the archives suck (which it currently does)
o you don't do email anyways so taking a break to meander to a website and
look at a couple messages isn't a big deal
that said, i'd love to hear your justification for how a forum allows for a
greater overview and is more accessable ...

agreed... so whip up a nice design and we'll all be happier... in fact, why
don't we (by which i mean you, since you brought it up ;) concetrate first on
a better web site design for what currently exists and then worry later about
things like bulletin boards.

not really. i act as a pretty relaxed moderator and i'm sure when i eventually
give up that "post" someone else will fill those shoes. but there's no need
to OK/Deny every post and probably never will be. this is based on past
experience with groups and lists that make CLUG look insignificant, btw.

let's not devolve into flames and flamebait here, ok?
see, i can moderate!

calgary.linux.ca is not a news site, a portal, etc.. and probably never should
be. it should be an information site for CLUG that may end up offering nice
shortcuts and links to sites that are news/portal sites.
what i think we can agree on is a nice looking design with good navigation
would be an improvement for existing and new users alike. if you are prepared
to work on that, let's do so! once that is done, we can look at introducing
new features and functionality.
