Jesse, Thanks for your advice. I had used the Mandriva Software Manager to try to find and install the 4 dependencies that the gretl rpm lacked. However, the Software Manager couldn't find 2 of them and when I told it to install the 2 it could find I got a list of 39 other dependencies required! I tried installing them but got the bad signatures message.
All this makes me think something is wrong with my installation so I plan to either re-install from scratch or wait until Debian 4.0 is released.
