At our facility, I am required to supervise every 4-5th weekend. Which entails staffing, skilled assessments, and on call for the entire weekend. Most weekends I put any where between 10-16 hours a day on sat and sun. We are a 99 bed facility dually certified. I do the MDS's for 65 of the residents, the other MDS nurse does the remaining 34. If it is an exceptionally quiet weekend I can get some MDS work done. But as we all know weekends usually are very busy. If a nurse calls off and we cant replace for the weekend, I end up doing everything above plus work the floor. I make roughly $3.00 more then the LPN's in our facility. It is a county facility, so the benefits out way the pay, most times.
