I have been at this facility for over 4 years. I never have worked the floor here, but
did at other facilities as mds coord. I have refused when askied and so far this has
been backed up bu my administrator, although begrudgingly I have an LPN in my office,
she has worked the floor a few times, but only when she feel she has the time, she has
refused more than said yes. We have no "call" but we are required to work 3 weekends a
year, approx 6 hrs each day, to be a House Manager. This requires little but feeding
residents to help, making sure the cat boxes are cleaned, delivering the newspaper,
intreracting with families. Since all the "office " people have to so this including
Activity, business office etc, there is no specific nursing aspect to it except
feeding, dining room duty.

Hi everyone:

How many of the MDS Coordinators out there are required to take nursing "on call"
rotation for your facilities?

Appreciate any and all answers!

Thanks!
