In my facility the 2 MDS coord. take call q 3rd weekend for now but generally q 4th. Their call consist of friday from 4pm to 8am on Monday - mainly there if i have 2 nurses call in - I have  built in buffers so to speak - I have an extra nurse on all 3 shifts in case this happens -  but a every good weekend crew that doesn't call in also. So their call responsiblities are much. Because I know how important MDS's need to stay on track.   As the DON the facility must call me with any clinicial issues that arise.     Jeff
